Nursing Australia secures preferred supplier agreement with Ramsay Healthcare NSW

SKILLED's Nursing Australia division has won one of Australia's largest nursing preferred supplier agreements, and will become the exclusive supplier of agency nurses to Ramsay Healthcare's major private hospitals in the Sydney region and NSW Hunter Valley.

Nursing Australia, part of SKILLED's Origin Healthcare business, was already a lead supplier to Ramsay Healthcare hospitals in WA and Queensland, and the NSW deal significantly extends the relationship.

Ramsay previously used more than 40 nursing agencies in NSW, and under the new agreement, Nursing Australia will be the exclusive supplier. In cases where it can't supply, Ramsay will access the market directly or use secondary suppliers.

Origin Healthcare CEO John Watkinson told Shortlist that Origin was "delighted" to win the three-year contract, which followed an extensive competitive tender process by Ramsay.

The arrangement covers the big Ramsay hospitals in Sydney at Northshore, Westmead, St George, Hunters Hill, Kareena, Mt Wilga, and Strathfield. It also includes the Northside, Northside Cremorne and Northside West day surgery clinics, and the Berkeley Vale, Lake Macquarie and Warners Bay private hospitals on the NSW Central Coast.
