Nursing Board Registration

Similar to other countries, to practice in Australia all nurses need to get registered with NMBA of Australia. This is mandate for all nurses/applicants.

To get registered with nurses board all the applicants need to meet requirements of NMBA.

General Registration Eligibility for Overseas Nurses ( NON -English Speaking Country's ):

1.Should be qualified registered nurse in home country or country of origin

2.Should have IELTS 7.0 band in all modules or ‘B’ grade in OET

3.At least 6 months Experience required as Registered nurse

4.Should undertake pre-registration/bridging program as part of registration requirement


Registration Process for UK, Ireland, Canada,New Zealand and US Nurses:

1.All applications will be assessed by the Nursing board

2.Will issue the registration if the applicants are meeting the NMBA requirements

Note: From 1 July 2010, all overseas nurses from Non-English speaking countries should meet board English language requirements to secure registration from NMBA .

Eligible Work Places:

1.Public & Private Hospitals all across Australia

2.Nursing Homes, Aged Care Homes & Residential Care Homes across Australia
